OVER MIJ

In mijn verhalende sculpturen probeer ik steevast de menselijke emoties te exploreren. Vooral het onbehagen , de leemtes, angsten en twijfels genieten mijn voorkeur als uitgangspunt.

Maatschappijkritische sprookjesfiguren.

Ik maak overwegend gebruik van het medium klei in al zijn aspecten.

Opbouw, drukmallen, boetseren,...

Ook bij de afwerking trek ik alle registers open.

Pigmentpoeders, engobes, onderglazuren, glazuren. More is more.

Zo creëer ik ogenschijnlijk kleurrijke personages die de toeschouwers lokken.

Binnenhalen als het ware, om pas dan de tristesse onder het vernislaagje te ontdekken.

Mijn werk is onlosmakelijk verbonden met muziek. Ik kies de titels van mijn beelden op basis van nummers die me beroeren, zowel tekstueel als melodisch.

Met muziek als zuurstof, klei als medium, schoonheid en kleur als katalysator en onbehagen als basis, laat ik de aandachtige kijker de wereld in mijn ogen zien.

ABOUT ME

Within my narrative sculptures I'm invariably trying to explore the human emotions. Especially the uneasiness, the voids, fears and doubts are my preferred starting points.

That's how I create colourful characters who attract the spectator. Luring them in, so to speak, only then to discover the sadness under the layer of varnish.

My work is inextricably linked to music.

I choose the titles for my sculptures based on songs that move me, both lyrically and melodically.

With music as oxygen, clay as medium, beauty and colour as catalyst and uneasiness as base , i like to let the attentive viewer see the world in my eyes.
